During the one-week-long camp, young writers will explore their creative voices, write their very own stories, and have a one-on-one art consultation with a professional illustrator who will design the cover of their book. On the last day, each young author will share their story with friends and family at a book release party! Page 15 provides campers with all camp supplies including journals, paper, pens, craft supplies, etc. Things you need to bring:
- Comfortable attire
- Packaged snack for outside snack break
- Prescribed medication (if necessary)
- A good attitude and a creative brain!
Maximum camp capacity is 25 students each week. At camp, students will work in small groups of 5-7 students with a lead writing coach. The small group system will ensure that each camper will receive one-on-one attention and connect authentically with a real community of peers. The approach also prevents noisy and disengaging discussions with too many people.
Page 15 has pulled our favorite writing coaches together to lead our summer camps this year. All coaches have been vetted and trained by Page 15 leadership and have completed a national criminal background check. Additionally, each of our coaches is paired with a second coach in their small group, so there is always an additional adult providing accountability. Program Director Paul Driscoll and Program Manager Alexandra Smith both manage and train each of our coaches and will meet with them before and after camp each day to support their instruction and your students’ experience.
Yes! Additional copies of your child’s book can be ordered for purchase before and after camp.
A limited number of scholarships are available for each week of camp and cover tuition and supplies. Please complete the scholarship application form here and Page 15 will update all applicants when scholarships are awarded in May 2025.
